FAQ

Are Touch2Sign signatures legally binding in the UK?
Yes. Touch2Sign supports Simple, Advanced, and Qualified electronic signatures under UK law and eIDAS, with appropriate identity verification for each level.
Do I need OneID for every document?
No. Choose per recipient — email-only for low-risk, OneID for deeds and high-value agreements.
What is OneID and the UK DIATF?
OneID verifies identity through a signer's UK bank account using their mobile banking app. It is certified under the UK Government's Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF) at Medium assurance — stronger than email OTP alone for Advanced Electronic Signature workflows.
Does OneID embed a certificate in my PDF?
OneID proves who signed. For UK AES documents, Touch2Sign then applies a PAdES Advanced electronic seal via eID Easy so the finished PDF contains a cryptographically verifiable signature — visible in Adobe Acrobat and compatible viewers.
What is eID Easy and when do I need QES?
eID Easy provides national eID verification and Qualified Electronic Signatures (itsme, BankID, Smart-ID, and more). Use QES for Ireland property deeds, cross-border EU contracts, and any workflow where eIDAS qualified-level signing is required — it is legally equivalent to wet ink and cryptographically stronger.
Can QES replace wet ink signatures?
Yes, for documents where eIDAS QES applies. The qualified PAdES signature is embedded in the PDF, bound to a trusted certificate, and verifiable independently of Touch2Sign. Combined with SCCR and audit trail, firms can stop chasing in-person signings and scanned PDFs.
